Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas truly lives up to its name
This private island destination caters to every member of the family. From catching extreme thrills on the tallest waterslide in North America to relaxing on the beach, the only thing to figure out is what to do first.
We've visited Perfect Day at Coco Cay 4 times within the last 6 months, and it has become our favorite stop on any itinerary. Luckily, most RCCL Caribbean itineraries include a stop at this private oasis. One of the MANY things that we enjoy is knowing that there will be no more than 2 ships in port at a time, allowing plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. If you are looking just to relax and enjoy the warm Bahamian sun check out Breezy Bay at Chill Island or head over to South Beach. For a little more upscale experience, be sure to book your spot at the Coco Beach Club. But for the kid in all of us, our favorite part of the island is Thrill Waterpark.
THRILLS at Thrill Waterpark
The Thrill Waterpark is an additional charge activity on the island and we highly recommend including it on your next stop. Besides housing the tallest waterslide in North America there's also a family raft slide (our favorite!) and even face-first racing slides (who doesn't love a friendly challenge?). When it's time for a break, take a dip in the massive wave pool or grab a bite to eat at one of the many Snack Shack (complimentary) locations.
Party at the Oasis Lagoon
Who doesn't love a party? How about a party at the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean? Oasis Lagoon is the place for you! Swim up to the bar for a drink (included with the onboard drink package) and feel the beat as the local DJ plays music from all over the world.
Underwater or Above It All?
Love to snorkel and admire the sea life surrounding and living within the island? You're in luck! There are many spots to don your gear and discover the different sea species that call CocoCay home. But if you're more of an above the ground person, you're covered too. Up Up and Away is a helium balloon that takes you 450ft in the air to truly see what the island has to offer. And if that's still not enough, feel the rush on the zip lines across the park ending with an awesome finale through the giant fountain at Harbor Beach.
Splashaway Bay
Even the youngest of cruisers have a space all to their own at Splashaway Bay. A massive splash pad, mini water slides, and a water obstacle course are all waiting to be explored at this complimentary spot. Don't worry, parents are also more than welcome to play around in here too.
So is it truly a Perfect Day at Coco Cay"? We say YES!
